I am in awe of laboring women. Their unmatched strength and beauty are the fuel for my passion for birth. As you are about to become one of these women, it is my pleasure to do what is in my power to help you safeguard that transition from pregnancy to motherhood called labor. Knowing the tremendous, lifelong impact that this transition has upon the mother, baby, and their relationship compels me to facilitate feelings of safety and support for you during your birth. I am committed to provide this service to women who plan epidurals, Cesarean births, natural births, and everything in between.

Services / Skills

Before labor, I meet with you to help us all become familiar with one another and learn as much as I can about your hopes and fears regarding labor and postpartum. I also provide any information you may need to be an informed consumer during your birth experience. During labor, support includes but is not limited to knowledge of comfort measures and positions to facilitate labor and pushing; knowledge of what is normal so that I can be a calm presence in the midst of possible stress; an awareness of the needs of all members of the birthing team, including partners, family members, friends, and care providers, and a desire to meet those needs; knowledge of medical terms to help enhance communication between care providers and couples. Throughout the experience, I am careful to notice how your partner wishes to participate, and never force them to take a backseat or push them to a level a participation that is too intense for them.
