Peace of Mind Doula

It was at my first birth experience that I realized I had found my calling. It was a wonderful experience to be able to support, comfort, and reassure the laboring woman. I have been blessed to have found my career as a doula. The term doula means "woman who serves". I am a doula because I believe whole-heartedly in the importance of being supported during your birth experience. I believe that women know what is best for their bodies and their birthing experience. I respect a woman's choice for any and all tools that may be used during labor. I consider all of the different options for birth as tools. For example, if a woman chooses to have a water birth, an epidural, use a birth ball, etc. they are all different tools that may be utilized. I support, empower and encourage her decisions. My prices reflect that I have recently embarked in my joyous journey in the birthing business. If a woman cannot pay my full fee I am more than willing to work with her on a reduction and/or payment over time. I look forward to working with you!

In October of 2009 I completed my Doula Training Workshop and I am actively working towards achieving certification through Doulas of North America (DONA). I have a social work degree and a certificate in women's studies from UW-Madison.
